The fall field birding sessions with Bob Quinn, owner of Merlin Wildlife Tours, have begun! Our first session included a rare Olive-sided Flycatcher, several tanagers, including one with a mix of red and yellow, plus 35 other species all in one spot. We had great finds and wonderful opportunities to study each bird.

WHY: To learn about and identify birds
COST: $305/member; $345/non-member for 8 classes. (Individual membership is $39). Sign up for any 4 sessions for $176/member; $216/non-member. Pre-registration is required. Preference will be given to those who register for the entire class.

Interested? There are still some spaces left but don’t delay because the group is limited to 10.

We are offering eight more field sessions, mostly on Saturday mornings from 8:00-11:30 am. The focus will be on migrants, especially warblers, and we plan to emphasize quality looks to better understand fall plumages and how they relate to migration. Some special sessions will be devoted to Common Nighthawk and Broad-winged Hawk migration. Spread over the next two months, you will experience the full breadth of the fall migration.
