Learn to Fly Fish

Discover this unique pastime! Members of Fly Fishers International (www.flyfishersinternational.org) will be our instructors teaching about fly fishing equipment, fly-tying, where fish live, how to read the water, and special strategies and techniques. Ages 9 and up. Registration with payment required. Four consecutive Wednesday sessions. Please plan to attend all. April 4, 11, 18 and 25

World Fish Migration Day

World Fish Migration Day is a one day global-local event to create awareness of the importance of open rivers, effective fish passage and migratory fish. We will join with over 1,000 organizations connecting fish, rivers and people everywhere. Learn about the River Herring and other species that we witness migrating in the Merrimack River each spring. There is much to celebrate! No registration required

2018 Fish Festival & Dash and Splash

Line up and cheer on biologists when they deliver fish to stock our fish passage at 10am. Our fishladder is open, but the wild migrating species have yet to swim up the Merrimack River. While we wait, the stocked fish will be here for up close underwater viewing. Fish crafts, fish hats, fish games and fishy fun throughout the day! No registration required

Bird Friendly Cafe – with fresh brewed coffee!

Bring your travel mug to the Fishways to learn about and sample coffee grown on farms in Central and South America that provide good, forest-like habitat for birds, especially birds that are migratory. Rather than being grown on land that has been cleared of all other vegetation, bird friendly coffees are planted under a canopy of trees.
