Snowshoe Rentals at Massabesic Tuesday through Saturday between 9 am and 2 pm Enjoy nature in winter at the Massabesic Audubon Center as you trek the trails on snowshoes! Snowshoes for use on-site only with a minimum of 6” of snow cover. Limited pairs available for little children.  Call to reserve if bringing a large party.

Leader: Angie Krysiak The art of tracking is like learning to solve a mystery.  Who left these prints?  What were they doing?  Where were they going?  Join us as we learn the basics of tracking some of NH’s common winter animals.  We’ll put our new knowledge to the test with a walk to see what tracks and sign we can find.  Suitable for any age.  Dress to be outside. Leader: Angie Krysiak Start with our naturalist for an indoor introduction to the art of tracking animals-learn about prints, scat, and other sign of a variety of NH’s winter mammals.  We’ll also touch on the history and types of snowshoes, then put on a pair and head outside to look for animal signs.  All ages welcome but snowshoes for children under 8 are limited.  Dress to be outside. Come celebrate January’s second full moon with a nighttime snowshoe hike to Battery Point.  Join Jake King with Thrive Outdoors and Massabesic Naturalist Angie Krysiak for the hike, a campfire, hot cocoa, marshmallows and a telescope for some moon and star-gazing before the hike.  Bring your own snowshoes or rent a pair of ours for $5 each.  Limited pairs available for young children.
