Through Our Eyes: How Nature Journaling Inspires Us

November 1 - December 31

free

During November and December, the McLane Center will present an exhibit focused on watercolor nature journaling, called “Through Our Eyes: How Nature Journaling Inspires Us.”

The show will feature the works of Nature Journal artists from the Nature Journaling class at the Kimball Jenkins School of Art. Class members work primarily in watercolor in their nature journals/sketchbooks and also in their finished work. Each member has their own unique style and students must decide how to combine writing, notes, and images in the finished journal pages. This results in a myriad of creative approaches and we all learn much from each other about art and nature. The classes are ongoing and some members have been creating their journals over a period of several years.

An Opening Reception will be held on Thursday, November 9 from 5:00- 7:00pm.  The artists will be present at the opening with their journals and be available to talk with people about the process of Nature Journaling with Watercolor.

If anyone is interested in future Nature Journaling classes, please get in touch with the Kimball Jenkins School of Art and let them know if you are a member of New Hampshire Audubon for a discount on tuition.  If enough people are interested, an additional class will be scheduled.
