Willard Pond Winter Wildlife

January 13 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join Phil Brown, NH Audubon’s Director of Land Management, for a moderately strenuous hike/snowshoe of Goodhue Hill at the Willard Pond Wildlife Sanctuary, where a timber harvest was conducted six years ago. We will walk to the summit of Goodhue Hill (2.5-3 miles round-trip) where excellent views of the surrounding Monadnock Region can be enjoyed on this trail through a regenerating forest. Tracking conditions may be excellent, too, and we will search for signs of moose, porcupine, bobcat, and some of the other seldom-seem wildlife that calls this sanctuary home.

Meet at the large parking area at the end of Willard Pond Road. Bring a snack, beverage, snowshoes, and dress for the weather. Back around noon. Co-sponsored with the Harris Center for Conservation Education.
