CONCORD AREA WATERFOWL
    Saturday, April 5, 7:30 AM

Join Bob Quinn and spend the day searching for migrating waterfowl around the Concord area. Sightings in prior years have included Northern Pintail, American Widgeon, Northern Shoveler and Wilson’s (f/k/a Common) Snipe. Meet at the McLane Audubon Center. Trip goes rain or shine!
Contact Bob Quinn at 219-0536 or RAQbirds@aol.com.
Please note: This trip will be an all day trip this year but will have a lunch break so that people can come for just half a day if they prefer.

MORRILL'S FARM, PENACOOK
    Saturday, April 12, 8:00-11:00 AM

Join Pam Hunt to explore this mix of grasslands, wetlands, and forest in the Merrimack River floodplain. This is a good time for waterfowl migration, and perhaps we'll find some early songbird arrivals as well. The trip will be entirely on foot, and cover a distance up to 4 miles, all of it on level ground. Bring a scope if you have one and are willing to carry it around. Meet at the Hannah-Dustin Park-n-Ride just west of Exit 17 on I-93.
Contact: Pam Hunt at 753-9137 or biodiva@verizon.net

WEBSTER BIRD WALK
    Sunday, May 4, 7:00 a.m.

A local morning bird walk in Webster to a spot to be determined after the snow melts! Meet Bob Quinn at the Town offices at 7:00 AM for this easy walk. Rain or shine.
   Contact Bob Quinn at raqbirds@aol.com.

NIGHTBIRDS AT THE MAST YARD
    Friday, May 16, 7:30 p.m.

The Mast Yard State Forest has been selected as a pilot study area for pine barrens ecology, and in 2008 N.H. Audubon hopes to collect data on Whip-poor-wills and shrubland birds here in cooperation with N.H. Fish and Game. This trip will introduce participants to the nocturnal world of this seldom-visited jewel on the Concord-Hopkinton border, while at the same time collecting valuable data that will help us understand Whip-poor-will biology. Bring sturdy footwear (i.e., no sandals), a flashlight or headlamp, and a compass if you have one. Sunset is at 8 pm, and the excursion is expected to last until roughly 9:30. Meet at the River Hill Market in Penacook (intersection of Bog Road and Carter Hill Road).
Contact: Pam Hunt at 224-9909 extension 328.

HORSESHOE POND, CONCORD
    Saturday, May 17, 7:00 a.m.

We’re well into Spring and now’s the time to view our feathered friends in their spring finery! Meet Rob Woodward at Horseshoe Pond at the north end of Commercial Street in Concord in search of our colorful spring migrants.
Contact Rob Woodward at 224-0889 (eves).

CEDAR SWAMP PRESERVE, MANCHESTER
    Sunday, June 1, 8:00 a.m.

This Nature Conservancy area preserves rare white cedars and black gums, and has an interesting diversity of birds in both upland and wetland habitat. Meet at 8:00 am at the Target Store in Hooksett on Route 3A just north of I-93 exit 10.
Contact: Terry Bronson at 603-929-1745 or tbbirds@comcast.net for more info.

LOCKE ROAD, CONCORD
    Saturday, June 14, 7:00 a.m.

Locke Road with its wide variety of habitat including wetlands, woodlands, river, and fields is a favorite “hot-spot” of activity. Expect a wide variety of species. Meet at Locke Road in East Concord.
