Welcome to New Hampshire Audubon

New Hampshire Audubon, a nonprofit statewide membership organization, is dedicated to the conservation of wildlife and habitat throughout the state. Independent of the National Audubon Society, NHA has offered programs in wildlife conservation, land protection, environmental policy, and environmental education since 1914.

The mission of New Hampshire Audubon is to protect New Hampshire's natural environment for wildlife and for people.

The Environmental Research Lecture Series:
Monthly lectures feature renowned scientists who are doing groundbreaking research in a variety of fascinating environmental arenas. Lectures are geared toward a general audience, and there is a question and answer session. There is no preregistration. Please join us!

"Our Modern Society Becomes Us: Chemicals in our Bodies," with John Spengler, Ph.D.

John Spengler, Ph.D., Akira Yamaguchi Professor of Environmental Health and Human Habitation at the Harvard School of Public Health, has conducted research in the areas of personal monitoring, air pollution health effects, aerosol characterization, indoor air pollution and air pollution meteorology. He is the author of numerous articles dealing with air quality concerns and other environmental issues, including health risk assessments. Prof. Spengler served on two National Research Council committees on aircraft passenger and crew health and safety and is now participating in two-FAA sponsored centers investigating aviation and related impacts. He serves as advisor to the World Health Organization on indoor air pollution, personal exposure, and air pollution epidemiology.

This often happens during “invasion” years when we have large wintering flocks or redpolls, pine siskins, or American goldfinch. It's Official! N.H. Audubon's McLane Center Receives Coveted LEED Gold Certification
The McLane Center in Concord has earned gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council using the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System. The building is only the third in New Hampshire to receive gold certification, making it one of the most energy-efficient and healthy buildings in the state. To date, no building in New Hampshire has received a higher certification. [News Release]

New Report Released: Hampton-Seabrook Estuary Avian Assessment
N.H. Audubon biologists and volunteers dedicated over a year to studying how birds use New Hampshire's largest area of salt marsh and tidal flats for food, breeding and roosting. The resulting report identifies four focal points for bird usage and future conservation efforts. [Learn More]
