Ask The Naturalist Track

Welcome to Ask the Naturalist!

Ask the Naturalist is the Audubon Society of New Hampshire's Natural History Information Service. Below are commonly asked questions about birds and other natural history topics. Each question is a link to the answer.

If you have a question about birds or some other aspect of nature (animals, plants, insects, etc.), the Audubon Society of New Hampshire has a corps of Volunteer Naturalists that can help. Call on weekdays and ask for a naturalist, mail your question, or send it via e-mail to birdsetc@nhaudubon.org. with "naturalist question" in the subject line. Be sure to include your name, mailing address and phone number (even if you send your request by e-mail) and e-mail address (if you have one). Thanks!

Natural history is defined as
  1. a treatise on some aspect of nature;
  2. the study of natural objects from an amateur or popular point of view.
