Beech Street Elementary Programming

(by Willa Coroka)

Since October, NH Audubon naturalist educators have been visiting Beech Street Elementary School in Manchester for monthly environmental education programs. Topics covered include Habitat, Nocturnal Wonders, Mammals, Wildlife Tracking, Pollinators, and Reptiles with a final program on Phenology and Ponding taking place at the Massabesic Audubon Center. From a generous grant received from the Manchester Kiwanis Club helping to bus the four 2nd grade classes to our Auburn location, both students and naturalists are eager for May when we’ll apply what we’ve learned over the past several months as we dip nets in Milne Pond and traverse the trails in search of signs of spring.
