Ines and Frederick Yeatts Wildlife Sanctuary Progress

(by Parker Schuerman)

In the middle of a 100-acre grassland, at the newly acquired Ines and Frederick Yeatts Wildlife Sanctuary, NH Audubon has recently finished constructing a small parking lot. In addition, a kiosk was erected for future educational signage, sanctuary maps, and site-based communications to our visitors. The weather may not be suitable to have lunch there this time of year, but a picnic table was also added. Winter bird species you may encounter at the sanctuary include flocks of Snow Buntings, an occasional Northern Shrike, and of course, other robust visitors including the Tree Swallow and Ruby or Golden-crowned Kinglets. The center of the grassland is just 1.5 miles northwest of Warren, NH on state highway 25C or Lake Tarleton Rd.
