Whatta Nest!

A single, stacked up Osprey nest, located at the south end of Lake Winnisquam in Belmont, has produced and incredible 49 fledglings since 1999. This year’s layer holds the three newest additions to the site’s legacy. The young of the year pictured here have orange eyes and checkered wings. An adult is in the center with yellow eyes and dark wings. Thank you to Iain MacLeod (who coordinates Osprey monitoring in the NH Lakes Region) for sharing this photo he took on July 18.
